What we do

Specifically, here's what we handle.

EV charger installs look simple — but they're an electrical project, not a plug-in. Done wrong, you get tripped breakers, slow charging, or fires. Done right, your charger runs at full speed for the life of your car.

Tesla Wall Connector

Tesla's home charger, hardwired for full 48A (11.5kW) charging on a 60A circuit. We're certified to install for warranty coverage.

Universal Level 2 chargers

ChargePoint, Wallbox, Grizzl-E, Emporia, Juicebox, ClipperCreek, and others. We help you pick the right charger for your car and your panel.

Multi-vehicle / multi-charger setups

Two or more chargers in the same garage, with load balancing so you don't have to upgrade your service. Common for Tesla + non-Tesla households.

Outdoor / driveway installations

Weatherproof installations for homes without garages. Full conduit runs, GFCI protection, NEMA-rated boxes.

Commercial EV charging

Workplace and multi-tenant charging stations. Networked, billable, with rebate paperwork handled.

Panel upgrades for EV

Many older homes don't have capacity for an EV charger. We can install a smart load management device or upgrade the panel — whichever makes more sense for your situation.

Why Electracore

What sets us apart for this work.

We size your circuit for what your car can actually use

A common mistake: installing a charger on an undersized circuit "because it works." Your car will charge slower forever. We install at the maximum your car can use, so you get full speed for the life of the vehicle.

Hardwired or NEMA 14-50 — your choice

Both work. Hardwired is slightly faster and more reliable; a NEMA 14-50 outlet is more flexible if you move or upgrade chargers. We explain the trade-off and you decide.

Permits, inspections, and rebate paperwork

Every install gets a permit and an inspection. We also handle DTE rebate paperwork — DTE currently offers a $500 rebate on Level 2 chargers, which is real money.

Common questions

Things people ask us.

Do I need to upgrade my electrical panel to install an EV charger? +

Sometimes. A 100A panel is often enough for a Level 2 charger — but it depends on your other large loads (AC, electric range, electric dryer). We do a load calculation as part of the quote and tell you exactly what you need. About 40% of installs need no panel work; the rest need a smart load manager or a service upgrade.

Can you install a Tesla Wall Connector? +

Yes — and we recommend it for Tesla owners. The Wall Connector charges faster than the mobile connector, looks cleaner, and has full app integration. Hardwired install on a 60A circuit gives you maximum charge speed.

Can I just plug my charger into a regular outlet? +

Technically yes (Level 1 charging), but it's painfully slow — about 4 miles of range per hour. A Level 2 install on a 240V circuit gets you 25-40 miles of range per hour, which is what most people need to fully charge overnight.

How long does an installation take? +

Typical home install: 3-4 hours. Depends on the distance from your panel to where the charger goes and whether we need to do any panel work. We give you exact timing at the quote.

Is there a DTE rebate on EV chargers? +

Yes — DTE offers rebates for Level 2 charger installations. The amount and requirements change, so we check the current program at quote time and handle the paperwork as part of the install.
